Therapist
Renee Souba is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish from Augustana College, and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at University of Illinois – Chicago (UIC). She brings 35 years extensive clinical experience from inpatient and outpatient work at Presence Mercy Medical Center and Dreyer Medical Clinic in Aurora where she provided individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Renee’s areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, school issues, family issues, parenting, grief and loss, transition/adjustment issues, ADHD, anger issues, and behavioral management.
Renee enjoys working closely with her clients to develop realistic healthy goals, improve coping and communication skills and exploring past issues that may be affecting their day-to-day lives. She experiences each client as unique and helps to tailor therapy goals to best improve their lives. She incorporates systems theory and solution focused therapy. She also has the opportunity to use her therapy dog “Patrick ” in her sessions. Her goal is to create a comforting, warm, positive and nurturing therapy environment.
