Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP). Michelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Social Work from Elmhurst University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University.
Michelle has experience working at the hospital in-patient level of care and safety planning for the transition home post hospitalization. Michelle works with adults and adolescents ages 10+ on depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-injury behaviors, trauma, self-esteem, school anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, LGBTQ, and emotional dysregulation. She also has experience working with domestic violence survivors in unhealthy relationships, obtaining Orders of Protection, and rebuilding stability after leaving an abusive relationship.
Michelle uses an authentic approach and believes a therapeutic relationship allows the client to feel comfortable and safe during therapy. She utilizes humor, compassion, and empowerment. Additionally, Michelle incorporates motivational interviewing and mindfulness into each session. Michelle’s goal is to guide clients in improving their communication and social skills to be confident in applying their skills in their daily life.
