After graduating from University of Prishtina Medical School, Dr Zhubi started neuroscience postdoctoral training in Psychiatric Institute, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois, Chicago. His research group conducted experiments in human post-mortem brain samples with goal to understand epigenetic mechanisms implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and autism spectrum disorder. Dr Zhubi’s strong interest in translational psychiatry motivated him to successfully complete residency training at the University of Illinois in Chicago on the Adult Psychiatry Neuroscience Research Track while pursuing Master’s degree in Neuroscience. After finishing training, Dr Zhubi worked for 5 years as an attending psychiatrist in the inpatient and outpatient services at OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, IL, while providing psychiatric care to undeserved community gravitating from central Illinois.
Dr Zhubi has a genuine passion for the field of psychiatry and his treatment approach is integrated, compassionate and patient-centered.
Dr Zhubi is Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
Results of his research have been presented in several meetings: American Psychiatric Association (APA), Society for Neuroscience (SFN), American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) and Albanian-American Medical Society (AAMS).
Dr. Zhubi has privileges to provide psychiatric services at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward-Elmhurst Health in Naperville.
