Dr. Polk loves working with children and adolescents. She has a niche to getting children and adolescents to engage in therapy. She is skilled at treating various emotional and behavioral difficulties, such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, grief & loss, anger and aggression, adjustment issues, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, self-injury, and school challenges. Dr. Polk uses varies approaches in treatment which includes cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and family systems. She believes each individual is different and tailors’ treatment as such. She also enjoys neuropsychological and psychological assessments. She desires to use the findings in assessments to aid in therapeutic treatment.
Shasheena Polk, LPC , Post-Doc Fellow

Dr. Shasheena (Sheena) Polk is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), who recently obtained her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology in June 2023. Previously, she obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration of children and adolescents in 2017. She has worked as a Substitute Teacher, Therapeutic Mentor for foster children, and Therapist at a Therapeutic Day School. She has also worked as a behavioral therapist for autistic children, adolescents, and adults. She has led various groups involving children and adolescents. She also worked as a child and adolescent therapist at a mental health hospital. She has worked as a psychometrician conducting various neuropsychological and psychological assessments. She earned a second Master’s Degree in 2020 along the way of working towards her doctorate. She completed her doctoral internship at MiraCare Neuro Behavioral Health where she specialized in psychological and neuropsychological assessments.
