Nicole Bowers is a board certified physician assistant and one of the newest members of the ABHS team. In pursuit of becoming a PA, Nicole devoted a significant amount of time to assisting adult patients with various developmental and degenerative conditions, including cerebral palsy, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. She also gained valuable healthcare experience working in the rural community of Ottawa, Illinois as a medical assistant at OSF St. Elizabeth PromptCare.
Nicole aims to provide patient-centered care focused on every aspect of a patient’s well-being: physical, emotional, and mental. She collaborates with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans supported by evidenced based medicine and informed decision making. Her greatest passion is helping patients thrive as independent, whole, safe, and unique members of their communities. Nicole is dedicated to providing excellent behavioral health services as a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatric PA in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove, Illinois. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants.
